that last journal thing turned into a "to do" list. i apologise. i have done away with the "THINGS TO DO OVER SUMMER" list. it was redundant, and i hadn't looked at it in ages anyway. so here's some interesting stuff:
SOME PRETENSION:
art is the best religion in the world. she (the goddess of art is a she) doesn't mind which way you worship her, just as long as you do - music, painting, drawing, photography, design, writing, even dancing and acting.

it's about individual worship, on a personal level.

artist's have a relationship with art, like jews talk to god.

she has art galleries that are like temples or churches.

she has festivals.

those who worship her, by making art, often acheive a zen-like trance of creativity, just like buhdism.

it could be called a polytheism, because there are so many ways of worship. but like hinduism, they're all just faces of the one, ultimate god(dess).

she sends us muses, which are other-worldly presences intended to inspire us and give us ideas. whether you know it or not, and whether you believe it or not.
-
but-

art is not some side-note what-a-nuisance-lets-get-it-over-with thing. it's an expression of some part of you, whether intellectual, emotional, or other. it's not something you get forced to do regularly by those around you. it's something you do because if you don't, you feel frustrated as hell.

it doesn't matter if you belong to another religion at the same time. and no artist would force art upon you, because if you don't want to *shrug* that's your deal. it has a
very casual membership policy. it's a very casual religion, really.

art actually blends with the other religions. it leeches worship. the sistine chapel roof, african tribal masks, the taj mahal, the songs of worship from those big tall towers that i don't know what religion they belong to. even cave paintings. art is the first religion, and it creeps into every other one. even puritanism.

'worship' of art actually achieves something, by it's very nature. you cannot be a passive artist.

if everyone in the world were artists, the world would be rich beyond our wildest dreams.
i think, if art was going to be physically manifested, she would look like a flower-child, punk-grunge Angelina Jolie. we all know it.
